Historic Preservation isn't all saving buildings and archiving old photos. It's also about gathering the people to support such endeavors. It's about having the vision. And more importantly, instilling the idea that's it's an obtainable goal in others who will help support these projects.
Having loved old stuff for most of her whole life, Karen now finds herself as acting President of the Potlatch Historical Society as well as the Washington, Idaho & Montana Railway History Preservation Group. "Visionary Tendencies" being her strong suit, she uses her love of events to help raise awareness, gather volunteers and funds for these two non-profit groups.
Karen has helped bring musicians such as Blue Highway, Vanna Oh!, Nick Shoulders, Charlie Sutton, Hillstomp, The Ranch Hands, Forgotten Freight, Cameron McGill, Junior Brown, The Cold Hard Cash Show and more, to the area. Surely for a good time, but in most cases, for the sake of raising funds for the non-profits she has committed herself to.
If you are interested in joining either or both groups, please stop in at BlackBird.
Or shoot her an email.
